Check, Check, Check!

Well i'm a little happy that snowboarding was cancelled this weekend.  I ran two races and got a ton of new running gear :)  Not to mention checking off a couple goals!  Today's run went really well and thankfully the weather was nothing like the forecast, we even saw a little sun!  I ran the 3 mile course between 24-26 minutes...I need a better way of tracking my times...maybe I should make a new list: Fitness gear and gadgets to buy.  I don't think that list would ever end!!

WALDO was out on the course handing out raffle tickets for the Adidas gear giveaway!  No winnings here :(  I took advantage of the winter sale at Runner's Edge though and got these two lovely tops!  New exercise clothes makes me a VERY VERY happy girl!  BTW, my entire outfit from yesterday's run is new...hopefully the 'newness high' last for a while or someone is going to need to hide my wallet :-P

I'm already planning out my races for the next month!  So excited that i'm seeing positive changes in myself and my performance.  It only motivates me to keep going and pushing myself to new levels :)

The Snowflake Run

Don't worry everyone...waking up at 9:33 for a 9:00 race was just a cruel nightmare!  Despite my sleep being disrupted at 3:46 AM, I woke up and made it to Long Beach with time to spare :)  I was very happy with how I ran.  I finished 4th out of my age group and 74th overall (out of 361!).  I was in shock when I came to the first mile marker.  Not because of the freezing wind, but because of the time I saw on the clock, 7:40.  Really?!?!  I didn't know I was capable of running a mile in that time.  This just proves that running on a treadmill is completely different than running outdoors.  And that the machines don't necessarily tell you the most accurate information.

Of course I have some pictures to share...

Waiting until the last minute to get out of the car...the sky looked like it was ready to open up on us but no snow for the Snowflake Run.  Luckily the rain waited until the race was over :)

FINISHED!
I am  very happy with my results but still a little disappointed that I didn't get into the top 3!  That being said, I'll be adding something new to my Goal List.  My dad told me "you'll only get better with time" :)  Persistence and dedication pay off...the results along the way are worth everything you put in!

Final Time: 31:08

I love my growing collection of race shirts!

Time to rest up for the next race....which is tomorrow!  A 3 mile fun run being hosted by Runner's Edge who just happens to be having a Winter Sale on their clothing :)  WIN-WIN    Hopefully the weather forecast for tomorrow is wrong and it doesn't rain!!

Come back tomorrow to find out how I did!!

My Goals in progress...

Let's continue from my last post!  If you didn't read it, you should go do that now :)

My Dinner:
Cajun Shrimp
Sauteed Peppers & Onions
Organic Brown Rice

And a much needed treat after being surrounded by pizza!!  The biggest craving I've had since I started eating clean so strictly.  Next time i'm experimenting with mug cakes!

Oats
Organic Wheat Flour
Cinnamon
Natural Peanut Butter
Honey
Vanilla Extract
Organic Almond Milk
Egg
Drizzled with chocolate :-x !

So I crossed something new off of my goal list!  I went to the gym every day for an entire week.  Saturday is going to put a halt to my gym streak so i'll have to start over again on Sunday.  I had a few things crossed off already when I made the list so here's some pics from them!

Some pics from the Tough Mudder I ran in October last year...

The only two pics I found on the Tough Mudder site because there were thousands to go through!  The 'mud slides' (on the right) was so much fun!  Had a smile on my face almost the entire race :)

My Souvenir t-shirt and race # from the 5k Penguin run I did in January.  I'll be snowboarding this weekend so i'll miss the only two races I could have done this month...I guess my goal of running a race every month for an entire year will have to start over in March!

Now we're all up to date :)

What I am eating today!

GOODMORNING!

I am feeling super motivated today :)  I want to share with you how I eat.  I am becoming more and more obsessed with prepping my meals and snacks to take to work.  It makes going through the day so much easier when i'm eating the right food and don't have to worry about not eating enough.  I've been moving toward the stricter side of eating clean (with a few cheats of course, i'm human!) so I try to eat every 3(ish) hours.

So here's what i'm having today:

Breakfast:
3 Eggs (I haven't turned in to one of those egg white only people yet!)
1/8 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup broccoli boiled
1/2 cup tomato
8oz Nature's Promise Organic Reduced Fat Milk

Lunch:
1 1/2 cups Spinach
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup mango
1/8 cup sliced almonds
1/8 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup tomato
1/16 cup onion
3 oz chicken boiled
No dressing, especially when I use fruit or avocado! Saves a lot of fat and calories (if you're counting that is, which I don't)

And a couple snacks in case I need a little something more...which I ALWAYS do

I think we know what these are ;)

1 cup sauted peppers in garlic and oil
1/2 cup (cooked) Nature's Promise organic brown rice

And this is where I am at as of right now...

I'll share my dinner in my post later.  I achieved a goal!  Come back to find out what it was :) :)

Baby Steps

Everyone has goals that they see as dreams, something only attainable when you sleep.  What holds us back from acting on those dreams?  Why don't we work everyday towards them?  FEAR.  Or at least that is the answer for me.  I have a list of things, in my head, that I want to do but I make excuses because of my fear.

Well I think I'll start this blog by writing my goals down, this way they are out there (out of my head) and I can easily cross them off when I accomplish them!  Now this is just the short version...I'll add the rest as I remember it.
